Putting the Controller Before the Horse
May 17, 2011 by Travis MaiA few weeks ago I spent the weekend helping a friend of mine move into his new house. On our second trip with the truck and trailer completely full, the car ahead of us slammed on its brakes for no apparent reason. Even though we were traveling at a safe distance, we came within inches of turning this guys mid-size sedan into a compact. Anyone that has towed a trailer before has noticed how much harder it is to come to a complete stop. Newton’s first law of motion states: “Every body remains in a state of constant velocity unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.” …Such as the brakes on his pick-up.
