Working as the social media specialist for CURT it is one of my responsibilities to monitor trailer hitch and towing conversations across the web. While most conversations are rather specific to their medium such as Forums and Facebook, none is more diverse than Twitter. In this week’s blog I’ve decided I am going to address a tweet that I come across a few times a week.

Anyone who’s ever owned a boat trailer has gone through the frustration that is trailer wiring. Personally I’ve endured this pain annually over the past 10 yrs on the family pontoon. The main issue that we run into is that when we launch and load the pontoon on the river the current causes the aluminum transom to collide with poorly positioned trailer lights. This causes the submersible trailer lights to crack which allow water to flood in and crack the bulb and corrode the fixtures. This year was going to be different, this year I decided to make a vow that I was never going to change lighting again.

It’s been said that great things can be found in the strangest of places. For the past 15 years I have lived within walking distance of a local horse showmanship club known as the Eau Claire Bit and Spur Club. Every day I drive past it to and from work, giving little thought as to what showmanship, equestrianism, or the history of Bit and Spur really was. I took it upon myself to get the facts in my never-ending quest to become the ultimate authority in towing lifestyle knowledge.

If you ride horses like I do, then you probably just broke your horses in for the season. This year, I’m blaming the late start on the weather. Snow ‘till April and no spring? True, it’s the Wisconsin weather we know and love, but, it’s not exactly the most ideal thing for horseback riding. I figured that gave me a good enough excuse not to get out there and heft myself up onto the backs of animals that had probably been about as lazy as me for just about as long. Never the less, my grandmother wanted a ride, and who was I to say no to my grandmother?

For the past week I’ve been struggling with a little writer’s block trying coming up with a topic for my blog. Then it hit me…well actually it was delivered to me by the United States Postal Service in the form of a wedding invitation from some close friends of mine. I’ve always been a big fan of weddings. With free beer, free food, free music, and women trying their damndest to look their best, who could go wrong? Neat wedding fact about June’s wedding popularity; while many people believe it to be due to the nice weather, it is actually thought to be attributed to Juno the Roman Goddess of marriage and childbirth. So what do weddings have to do with towing? As it turns out…quite a bit!
